Where is the Inca Trail?
The Inca Trail is located in the Andes Mountains of South America, and specifically in Peru. The trail is situated in the region of Cusco, which is in the southern part of the country, near the border with Bolivia. The trail starts at km 82 of the Cusco-Quillabamba railway, and it goes through different Andean landscapes including mountains, cloudforests, and subtropical jungle, it also pass many Inca ruins along the way before finishing at Machu Picchu.

The trail itself is located on the sacred valley region, which is a part of the Inca Empire, also known as Tawantinsuyu, which is why it is considered a sacred trail by some of the local people.
